MEERA REID

CERTIFIED nutrition CONSULTANT

MY APPROACH

My holistic approach to health through plant based nutrition is strongly grounded in personal experience, having experienced chronic illness for the first twenty-five years of my life. I suffered severely from asthma and bronchitis, allergies, depression, anxiety and chronic fatigue, relied heavily on medications and was bedridden and hospitalized many times. When I finally made the decision to seek out and commit to nutrition-based healing methods, I was able to fully overcome all of these conditions and have thrived symptom and medication free ever since.

I offer personalized nutrition consulting designed to guide clients in reaching optimal health through implementing both cutting-edge and age old diet and lifestyle approaches. I have been incorporating the work of Anthony William, Medical Medium into my practice since 2015.

Built upon 30 years of experience and study, as well as a deep understanding of how food and lifestyle impact every aspect of our daily lives, I offer 1:1 consulting where clients receive the support and guidance they need to explore directly what it means to heal.

Coming from an extensive background in nutrition, bodywork, yoga and meditation and having healed many symptoms of chronic illness myself, I bring a compassionate and empowering approach to every session, allowing clients to discover and connect to their own unique path to wellness.

Each session is tailored towards achieving optimal health through the use of holistic wellness protocols, with focus on a personalized plan using plant foods as medicine. We weave together a combination of individualized root cause assessment, dietary and lifestyle recommendations, meal planning, food preparation and specialized recipes, allowing the body to return to its natural state of balance and well-being.

Education and Background

With 30 years of continued exploration into a wide range of nutrition approaches including Raw and Living Food Cuisine, Ayurvedic Healing and the Medical Medium Protocols, my education also includes a two year residential work-study program at the Kushi Institute in Becket MA studying under Michio Kushi, founder of the Macrobiotic tradition in the United States. I am a Certified Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and American Association of Drugless Practitioners, a Certified Nutrition Consultant through Bauman College CA and I hold a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification through Yoga Alliance. MEDITATION

Meditation has been informing my life since I was 16 years old when I had the good fortune to connect with a Buddhist nun who instructed me in a simple form of meditation. Each week I would visit her tiny cottage on Dartmoor in Devon England and we would meditate together for hours at a time. She taught me how to work with my breath and find peace in listening to the river flowing outside the door. I am grateful to have worked with many incredible teachers since then but even now, 40 years later, that experience stays with me and was one of the first of many steps on a path towards deep healing. I cannot imagine life today without the grounding support of an ongoing meditation practice.

NATURE

I was born and raised near Glasgow in Scotland. Glasgow was, and still is, a large industrial city but I always remember having an affinity with nature. Later, when my family moved to the wild beauty of Dartmoor in Devon England, I developed a deep reverence for the landscape that surrounded me. Walking the country lanes, gazing out at the fields and witnessing the changing seasons shaped the person I was becoming. Since that time my love of nature has pulled me to many corners of the planet on hiking and camping adventures. I am currently lucky enough to call Santa Fe, New Mexico my home.
